Company Policy Statement

Our policy is to deliver a safe professional service, produced and delivered by competent, skilled, experienced and safety-conscious employees to fulfil our contractual obligations, exceed customer expectations and ensure that any safety, quality or environmental risks from our activities are identified and either prevented, eliminated or effectively controlled. This will be achieved through effective planning and organising, objective setting, measuring, audit, review and training.

We are fully committed to raising awareness within the Railway industry and promoting practical guidance. In pursuance of this policy we will:

• Comply with relevant legislation, Railway Safety Case and Assurance Case

• Regularly assess the impact of our operations

• Set and review objectives and targets with the aim of continual improvement

• Aim to include safety, quality and environmental considerations in investment decisions

• Minimise the negative effects of our operations

• Employ waste minimisation techniques

• Encourage employee involvement

• Provide suitable and sufficient PPE

• Investigate all reported accidents, incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and unsafe behaviour and implement remedial action as necessary

• Develop and implement procedures

• Raise employee awareness through training

• Identify threats of pollution from our activities and ensure they are prevented, eliminated or controlled.

The Managing Director is committed to this policy and will provide necessary resources and support to meet company priorities. The policy shall provide a framework for setting, achieving and reviewing company objectives through our Safety, Quality & Environment Plan.

The Company will maintain effective Management Systems and constantly evaluate methods to improve and implement services for the benefit of safety, the environment, customers, employees and other interested parties. Our Management System will meet the requirements of our customers, and those of BS EN ISO 9001:2000, BS EN ISO 14001:1996 and HSG 65.

Responsibility lies with all employees to assist with implementation and administration of the Management System and Managers must assist and support the company by adopting an ‘open’ style of communication within a ‘blame-free’ culture. Continual Improvement is essential. We must learn from non-conformances, loss or damage, and develop and implement actions to prevent recurrence.

The Safety, Quality & Environment Manager has the delegated authority to review and improve our systems, procedures and work instructions, as necessary, and as such has responsibility for communicating, and supporting the implementation and maintenance of the policy at all levels throughout the Company.

This policy will be communicated to all employees and opportunity given to provide input. The policy will be made available to the public and other interested parties using appropriate media. All employees, suppliers and other interested parties associated with Bridgen Group Ltd are expected to conform to, and assist with, promoting Safety, Quality and Environmental issues throughout the Company.

This policy will be reviewed at least annually and/or when there have been significant changes to company activities or risks associated with the activities.
