Bridgen Completed Gatwick Project in Record Time
The Bridgen had a great start to the New Year with the completion of necessary repair work for Network Rail’s Sussex Area to replace a stretch of crossing timbers between Gatwick and Horley.
The project was carried out during the Christmas period on both the fast and slow tracks of this busy rail section. The work consisted of 95 new crossing timbers being renewed and was delivered on time, which resulted in the lines being back in use for the start of 2007.
Keith Simpson, Commercial Manager for the Bridgen said, “We tendered and won the project in the last quarter of 2006 and part of the remit was that we must adhere to the timescales set. We are delighted that we were able to complete the project safely within the specified time required”.
